Real nice job I like that it's slowed it became very pretty .. not in a bad way!
keeping the darkness but adding a touch more ...darn can't get the word out... belief that you will prevail and leave the dark place...
Nice job on the piano as well It broke down real nice. and builds up very well
I only hope my cover comes out 1/4 as good and I will be happy

Typing this as I listen to the original, have not heard the cover yet.. I wouldn't know what to do with this song, it's so awesome and I can't believe I haven't heard this before. I'm thinking this would have to be made into your own somehow. change it significantlly.. I'm just enjoying this song for the moment... hold...
Now to the cover.... And YES! Wow Fra. This is so right. I am impressed by another excellent cover. You did make this your own and it's just as awesome. Love the emmotion in your vocals. The piano intro is great! This just pulls you in. Lovely!
Great work!

You did it, made it your own 110%. Your voice is brilliant. Not many people know where they are, what they can or want to do with their talent. You do! Great job!

intro is dreamy~ prodution is spot on!
the coolest thing about this contest so far is that, we all get inspiration from our cover assignments, and we see the artist in a new light, as well the artist we cover. empire day is one of dmusics best! and you did an outstanding job on this cover!

Wow. Beautiful stuff here. Fuck eh I am very impressed. I am just itching to get mine done(Mojo where the bloody hell are you?). Your voice is very touching and heartfelt. Of course I know this very well when it comes to your own work and I know you would take a lot of care in other peoples. Fantastic.

you've taken a song not quite in your common genre, that is great to begin with, and created a brand new song with the same lyrics. ambitiously creative, with chances.. i've only ever heard one of your songs on distortion and it didn't seem as much of a natural bridge to your work as this. intro vocals are deep and inviting as is the piano- a mini drama about to happen sort of. you wear this song very well - a great tribute to empire day.

Ah, I've been away far too long, but clearly in my absence you've been evolving into a true professional Fra! This is a stunning piece of music. Can't say I've heard the original but you can tell you've made it your own. Awesome stuff.
Strangely, and for reasons I can't readily explain, I've just been watching clips of Miami Vice on YouTube, and this would fit perfectly in that era. I could probably have just said "It has an 80's vibe" without the confession about 'The Vice' but hey, we're old friends.
In summary, I love it (the song, not Miami Vice . Of course...

Your revision of the original gives it into of a more beset upon, beleaguered feel, but still far from beaten or broken.
Man, that's a lot of "B"s, but I can't think of a better way, at the moment, of expressing how...well, it doesn't sound like the protagonist has necessarily been through more than the one in the Empire Day version, necessarily, just that his triumph is a more deeply self-examined one, like he has acknowledged the damage which has been done to him a little more. For me, both versions benefited from hearing them back-to-back the way I just did.

Very impressive. I really like your vocal performance.
The overall ambiance is powerful. It does seem to have this.....i don't know....CSI/Miami Vice kinda atmosphere where you can picture some strung out teenager or something wandering the streets of the city just before some terrible fate befalls them.
Nice work.

Did you ever hear a song for the first time and have it stop the world for a few minutes? Due to LIFE, the first time I heard this, it fit my mood perfectly, and I've been hearing it in my head ever since. I MAY have listened to it a few times, too. MAY have... I just think this is a heavenly combination of lyrics, music, and above all -- vocals. Thank you is so inadequate.

Ooh, you're quite the piano player now. I always have loved your voice, but you sound more confident than ever. Very nice. All the elements come together so well... that electric guitar really helps drive the song. Nicely composed.
